Reception, Continuation & Exaltation...!

Let’s read Colossians 2: 6, 7

“So then, just as you RECEIVED Christ Jesus as Lord, CONTINUE to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with THANKFULNESS”.

Imagine getting an offer letter confirming your admission in a college or university for a 3 year course. You may either accept it or decline it. Let’s say you wanted to go ahead with the admission process. Once you have decided to accept the offer of admission, what do you do? You do the necessary paper-work, sign and pay the fees. What do you do after that? Do you just stay home and relax? Expecting to be called for the graduation ceremony after 3 years are complete? Or do you go to another college or university in which you do not have any admission? NO..!! After RECEIVING the offer you CONTINUE to study the same course you applied for at the same institution.

Similarly, the moment of Christ’s RECEPTION in your life is not the end of it all. You need to CONTINUE to live your life, rooted and built up in HIM. Some Christians just accept the “offer of admission” into the Kingdom of God by receiving Christ, but never continue their journey with Christ. They think their acceptance of Christ is enough to graduate (receive the crown of life). “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him” (James 1:12).

Have you RECEIVED Jesus Christ as your Lord? If you have, then are you CONTINUALLY living in Him? Is He your foundation? Is your life being built in Him? If you answer is YES, then these two things should be true in your life as well –Being strengthened in FAITH & Overflowing with THANKFULNESS. If your FAITH is being weakened or if you are overflowing with complaints, then be sure of the fact that you are not living your life IN HIM…!

Receive Him – Live Him – Thank Him..!!
