“The Fools’ SCHOOL OF FAITHLESSNESS”
Let’s read Psalm 14:1; Proverbs 18:2; Romans 10:17; Hebrews 11:1 in tandem
“The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”
Fools find no pleasure in understanding but delight in airing their own opinions.
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
Do you ever find yourself judging others – either in your inward thoughts or in your outward opinions? Do you feel a spurt of momentary pleasure in doing so? If your answer is YES, then according to God’s nomenclature (terminology) you are a FOOL, for those moments of folly at least.
Jesus never judged anyone in their absence. He always corrected/criticised constructively with authority. The opposite of what Jesus did is called GOSSIP. Judging someone in their absence is gossip, aimlessly airing your opinions to purposefully hurt someone and delighting in it is folly.
Faith is like oxygen to a Christian. You need a constant supply of Faith in order to be a true Christian with Life. Even decades old Christians can have moments of Faithless folly – ranging from few seconds to few years.
When you stop hearing through the Word of Christ – Christ (God) ceases to exist in your life.
Here’s the sequence from Faith to Folly –
1. Stop hearing the Word.
2. Lacking in Faith supply.
3. Lacking God’s tangible presence in your life.
4. Abundance of Folly evidenced by being judgmental/hypocritical and timid.
“Because of CHRIST and our FAITH in him, we can now come BOLDLY and CONFIDENTLY into GOD'S PRESENCE.” – Eph 3:12
HEAR, BELIEVE AND BE HOLY; SHUN FOLLY..!!
