Be a YIELDING FIELD..!

Let’s read Matthew 13:23

“.... But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”

Matthew 13 is a chapter full of parables. The first one is The Parable of the Sower. A farmer went out to sow his seed - some fell along the path, some fell on rocky places, some fell among thorns & some fell on good soil. The birds ate the seed that fell along the path. Lack of soil halted the growth for the seed that fell on rocky places. The thorns choked the seed that was growing among them. But, the seed that fell on good soil YIELDED and FLOURISHED.

Any farmer would want his seed to fall on a good and fertile soil. No farmer wants his seed to be un-yielding. Our Spiritual farmer (Holy Spirit) is scattering His seed (The Word of God) like never before. And He does not want His seed to be un-yielding. God wants His Word to land on a fertile heart that can produce a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.

What kind of a ground are you?

Are you “the path”, who hears the message and does not understand it and allows Satan to snatch the Word?

Are you a “rocky ground” who is interested in hearing the Word and understand its meaning, but do not know its personal application?

Are you a “thorny ground” who understands and knows the personal application of the Word, but is too weak to apply it in his/her life because of either pride or worry?

Or are you a “fertile ground” who not only understands and knows the personal application of the Word, but also practices it through Faith in order to produce the Fruit of the Spirit? (read Galatians 5:22-23)

HEAR TO UNDERSTAND Contextually,
UNDERSTAND TO APPLY Personally,
APPLY TO FLOURISH Spiritually...!
