Let’s read Romans 12: 6
- 8
“We
have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift
is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith;
if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if
it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give
generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it
cheerfully”.
If
you are a member of the body of Christ (Church) you are surely gifted with a
unique functionality. There is a specific function which God wants to accomplish
only through you. This gift will remain for life unless you choose to reject or
ignore it.
“Jesus
called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure
spirits and to heal every disease and sickness” (Matthew 10:1). These
twelve were empowered with gifts to proclaim the Gospel. Jesus also said “Freely
you have received; freely give”.
One of the twelve who also
received freely was Judas Iscariot. He was also given the gift of ministry but
he rejected it. He chose to be unfaithful and finally betrayed Jesus himself..!
(read Matthew 26: 47-56).
“From
everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who
has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked”
(Luke
12:48b). Have you unboxed your gift from God yet? Do you know
what is GIVEN unto you? Do you know what is EXPECTED from you?
Man’s
standard is to be stingy; God’s standard is to give cheerfully. Any gift that we
receive from God should be passed on with cheerfulness. The more you give, the
more you receive. God made us alive in Christ and gave us the gift of abundant and
eternal life. God wants to lift you up to Christ’s standard so you can live the
sacrificial life of Christ..!
RECEIVE
humbly – GIVE cheerfully – LIVE abundantly..!!
