Let’s read Psalm 121:3,
4
“He will not let your foot slip— he who watches
over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep”.
No matter where you are placed at the current
stage of your life, you WILL one day retire. If you are just a student then
retirement may be a long way away but one day you will sure retire. There may
be some of you who have already retired. No man is spared from retirement. Just
as death is sure for every man, retirement is sure as well.
Great scholars, great artists, great leaders, great
doctors, great engineers and great sports personalities, etc. – they all
retire, they all have a BEGINNING and an END. But GOD never retires. “He is the
Alpha and the Omega, the
First and the Last, the Beginning and the End” (Revelation
22:13).
God’s purpose in your life is more than your study, more than your
dreams, more than your talents, more than your contribution to society, more
than your responsibilities and more than how you are treated by the people
around you.
Jesus said “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never
perish; no
one will snatch them out of my hand” (John 10:27, 28). As
God’s children you and I do not cease to exist after we die. If you listen to
the subtle but clear voice of Jesus and follow Him, you will realize your
eternal purpose. Your education will perish, your achievements will perish,
your body will rot and perish but your spirit will live forever if you remain
in Jesus Christ.
Man may
retire from his studies, his career and his achievements, but his purpose of existence
lives on. Are you aware of God’s eternal purpose in your life? Do you realize that
if you do not remain IN CHRIST (listen to His voice & follow Him) you will
be given eternal death instead of eternal life?
Realize the significance of ETERNITY;
make Christ your PRIORITY..!!
